Pet Insurance Federation

The Pet Industry Federation (PIF) is the UK’s trade association for pet-related businesses, representing companies across retail, manufacturing, distribution, grooming, boarding, training and specialist pet services. PIF exists to support responsible, well-run businesses, raise professional standards and provide a credible voice for the sector in policy, regulatory and welfare discussions.

Through its work on guidance, training, data insight and industry codes of practice, PIF helps businesses operate safely and compliantly. PIF also works closely with veterinary and welfare organisations and engages with government and parliament to ensure the practical realities of running pet businesses are reflected in decision-making, while maintaining a strong focus on animal welfare and consumer protection.

PIF is delighted to be joining the Pet & Equine Insurance Association and looks forward to working with insurers to strengthen the understanding between insurance and the wider pet sector, support better communication with pet owners about the value of cover and contribute practical industry insight to discussions around risk and pet welfare.
