Petscribers is the UK’s first tailor-made pet prescription platform, making medication more affordable and accessible for pet owners.

As practicing vets, we witnessed owners struggling to afford medication for their pets. Online pharmacies can provide these medications at a fraction of the cost.  Despite the lower-cost options being available, awareness remains low. Only 38% of owners know they can buy pet medication online and just 1 in 7 regularly do so.

Pet insurance payouts reached £1.23 billion last year across 1.8 million claims, a 103% increase over the past decade. An estimated 17% of these claim values are medication costs, rising to 40% for ongoing conditions. Annual policy limits are being reached earlier, leaving owners without cover and pets without essential medication for the tail end of their policy year.

Our unbiased comparison tool allows owners to easily find and compare medications from government-accredited pharmacies, ensuring safety, efficacy, and value. We empower owners to make informed choices, whether they’re motivated by price, delivery speed, or retailer preference.

But we’re not stopping there. We’re developing bespoke prescription-writing software to streamline prescription-writing workflows for UK veterinary professionals, and owner dashboards that will support owners with medication management and provide data-driven insights to improve veterinary pharmacovigilance.

Our mission is to support the UK’s 16 million pet-owning households, with the end goal of improving animal welfare.
